History

Even before the Luftwaffe officially accepted the Messerschmitt Me 262 as the world's first jet fighter in 1944, the company's engineers were already looking for ways to improve what was quickly becoming an outdated design as part of the World The method should be War 2 (1939-1945). From about mid-1943, a new fighter-based form was designed as a lower-fuselage, two-man fighter, retaining the wings and tail of the original Me 262 product. The twin-engine arrangement (2 x Junkers Jumo 004C) under the body was retained, a move known as "P.

1099".

The proposed primary armament is multiple artillery pieces: 2 x 20mm FPL-151 cannons mounted in a rear-facing remote dorsal turret, 2 x 20mm FHL-151 cannons mounted in a rear-facing side hull and a gun, remote-controlled turret. 2 x 30mm MK-103 guns mounted on the nose, pilot-operated fixed forward-firing mounts.

Work continued until early 1944, when more roles were added to what is now a multi-role aircraft - single fuselage as interceptor, high-speed bomber/reconnaissance, bomber-fighter, night fighter, and air force trainer member. This also means that engineers are now experimenting with various weapon modifications, including 20mm guns, 30mm guns, 50mm guns, 55mm guns and upward-firing (Schrage Musik) guns.

The latter should be part of the night combat model that should also carry radar.

The end of the war in Europe in May 1945 ended all hope for the P.1099. By this time the project had developed another related twin-engine model, called the "P.1100" - a version with a swept main wing for higher aircraft airspeeds as an all-weather fighter.

The project itself produced another form of fighter, the single-seat P.1101, designed to meet the requirements of the 1944 Emergency Fighter Program. No one saw the light of day, the details of which were destroyed or captured by the conquering Allies.
