History
Boeing Business Jets (BBJ) is a designation used by Boeing to cover the business market/VIPs operating on the proven modern 737 twin frame Jet engine provided. In these designs, seating is often reduced to better provide the luxury typically associated with VIP occupancy. The base BBJ/BBJ1 is based on the 737-700 model with reinforced wings and landing gear.
Additional internal fuel tanks were installed in the belly of the fuselage, increasing range.
The BBJ2 and BBJ3 below are based on the 737-800 and 737-900ER airframes, respectively. The BBJ C is a 737-700ER model with fully modular functionality depending on the desired role (passenger, cargo, etc.).
The BBJ MAX 8 and BBJ MAX 9 products are based on the 737 MAX 7, 737 MAX8 and 737 MAX 9 products with all enhancements and performance specifications. All three are powered by CFM International's LEAP turbofan engines.
The versatility of the BBJ has allowed it to be used by a variety of military actors.
