The Spartan History of the Street Group

The Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) remains the focal point of all overland services worldwide. The STREIT Group "Spartan", developed by the Canadian STREIT Group, is one such entry based on the modern battlefield concept formula. This car has been in service worldwide, in Argentina (National Police), Bangladesh (Border Guard), Libya (Capital Security), Kurdistan, Nigeria, Oman (Police), Tunisia (National Guard and Police) and Ukraine (National Guard and Army). For Ukraine, it was already in service in the country's ongoing war with Russia - the Donbas War (in fact, the car was built under license from the Ukrainian concern KrAZ).

It was also used during the Iraqi Civil War (2014-2017).

Vehicle features reinforced suspension (chassis derived from Ford F550 heavy duty pickup), oversized wheels and excellent ground clearance. Dimensions include a barrel length of 6 meters, width of 2.4 meters, and height of 2.3 meters.

A typical operator consists of two people, including the driver sitting in the front left. In addition, it can accommodate six passengers.

Optional turret turrets can be mounted on top of the hull and are capable of deploying a variety of weapons including machine guns, grenade launchers and compact rockets. In addition, there is an optional unmanned Remotely Controlled Weapon Station (RWS) controlled by an onboard operator.

The interior of the vehicle is powered by a Ford V8 6.7L "Scorpion" turbo diesel engine at the front. Delivering 300 to 400 hp at 2,800 rpm, the system can propel the truck to road speeds of 68 mph. Range is limited to 68 (US) gallons of fuel storage.

The engine is linked to an automatic electronically controlled transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard.

Welded steel body structure protects armor from small arms fire and artillery jets. Bulletproof windows and muzzles also protect the vehicle from direct attack by infantry. The wheels are of a "leak" design.

A driverless version of the truck was on display at Arms and Security 2016 in Kyiv.
