Allen & Thurber Solo Story

Allen & Thurber single shot pistols are designed for competitive shooting. It is a single shot pistol based on the .41 caliber.

Design is wood and metal, barrel is steel. The cast steel barrel is detachable from the breech and can be stuffed up to 8 inches of the gun's length. The pistol grip was integrated into the receiver, which was common in all such early systems.

The trigger profile curves outwards and is protected by a stylish trigger guard that stabilizes the weapon with an extra finger. Aside from the front sight, the barrel is round and relatively featureless. The middle of the body is octagonal.

The hammer is located on the left side of the body, and the push rod is mounted under the barrel.

About 300 of these pistols are thought to have been made from the 1840s to the 1850s.
