Clock wz. 43/52 Stories
After World War II (1939-1945), Poland's arsenal was rebuilt with mainly Soviet weapons, including the PPS-43 submachine gun (SMG) series. Beginning in 1948, the weapon was finally put into licensed production as "PM wz. 43" until its modified form, PM wz. 43/52, was found to replace it.
This model retains all the form and function of the original Soviet product, but with specific modifications to meet the needs of the Polish army and local industry.
The PM in the name stands for "Pistolet Maszynowy".
One of the main differences of the new post-war design is the fit of the Tommy's pistol-style wooden stock (as opposed to the original's folding metal stock). This assembly features a hollow compartment that houses the cleaning kit, but adding it has the general benefit of adding weight to the rear of the weapon - resulting in a more balanced short to medium range weapon. Fully automatic, fire-only remains the mainstay of Polish design, although special trigger pressure management allows the operator to single-shot if desired.
Other changes include modifications better suited to the Polish assembly line, except for wz. 43. The 52 is always a submachine gun, usually issued to special forces, special forces and operators who need extra firepower but cannot use standard assault rifles.
A training model later appeared in the . 22 long rifle magazines, which were still lined by the standard PPS-43 detachable magazine with the addition of special inserts for the . 22 tissue. Semi-autonomous model based on military wz only.
The 43/52 of the civilian market appeared in 2010 as "PPS-43C".
From 1952 to 1955, Waffenfabrik Lucznik in Radom, Poland released over 111,000 PPS and PPS-related submachine guns.
