History of the Ruger Mini-14
The Ruger Mini-14 is based on the successful WWII M1 "Garand" infantry service rifle. In fact, most of the Mini-14's inner workings are mechanically the same as its predecessor, except that the base Mini-14 model is .223 Remington/5.56mm, reducing recoil and giving the gun some inherent precision qualities. The series was launched in 1973.
Various versions of the Mini-14 semi-automatic rifle can be fed from 5, 10, 20 or 30 rounds magazines. The rear opening is adjustable, and the weapon continues to be built with a Garand-style breech system. This system refers to a fixed piston gas system with a self-cleaning active cylinder.

Later production models feature new hardwood stocks and stock pads similar to traditional rifles, while other shapes also support adjustable stocks.
In Hollywood, the Ruger Mini-14 is a regular feature in the short-lived action series A-Team, where the four heroes always seem to rely on guns in combat scenes. In fact, the Mini-14 was chosen for its reliability when firing blanks.
In fact, this rifle was used in the 1986 FBI Miami shooting (April 11, 1986) involving two robbery suspects and FBI agents. This weapon highlights the need for agents to carry (or use) more powerful weapons. Mini-14s were also used in the 2011 Norwegian attack that killed 77 people.
