History
Webley & Foster made the rather clumsy Model 1905 pistol. This product is Webley's first to feature a recoil and is intended for use as a police and military weapon - so it's compact enough to fit in a holster. Made for .32 ACP and fired from an eight-round detachable magazine mounted on the bottom of the grip, this weapon was introduced in 1911, first as a unit of the London Metropolitan Police and later as a military pistol (issued to the Royal Navy).
As a result, the series saw some action in the First World War (1914-1918), but it was not popular due to certain inherent features - the barrel sticking out of the barrel, and the elongated trigger ring.
Overall length is 160mm, barrel length is 90mm. Gross weight (unladen) is 0.565 kg.
Other models in the collection include the Model 1906 and Model 1908 entries.
