G. T. Cambell; delivered to the Navy, unfinished, May 28, 1944; moved to Hampton Roads; refitted by Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Company Made into quarters ship; and commissioned at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Comdr, 10 October 1944. Haskell C. Todd is responsible.
